Late night post.

I'm currently at the end of my first full day back in Leicester after a nice, activity filled five day weekend back at home. It was fun, very fun to say the least. Not also did I meet and get pictures with Lee Malia and Matt Nichols of BMTH (I kind of fan-girled, oops) but I also attended a forty minute talk in which the legendary Stan Lee talked about his career and inventing classic super-heroes such as Spiderman, Iron Man, the Hulk, Fantastic Four, Thor and the X-Men. He was absolutely incredible.

Anyway, today was my first experience of the Cultural Exchanges experience happening this week at De Montfort Univeristy. It was a horrible experience as well. The electroacoustic talk I went to was quite boring and we ended up missing a talk on Harry Potter. Bloody hell. Let's hope tomorrow brings more joy.

I don't have much longer left of my first year at De Montfort. I have March to go through and then on the 30th of March I break up for three weeks. Then I come back for two weeks where I hand in my final two assignments and sit my single exam. That's it, from the 11th May up through to the 26th September (that's if I want to come for Freshers week) I'm at home. Besides from the ten day work experience I have to do, I'm free of studies all that time. Bloody hell.

Home!

Well, I'm back in the sunny 'Shire (Derbyshire that is) and it's nice to be back knowing I don't have to leave until Tuesday evening!

This means it's time to see friends and family I haven't seen since the Christmas period. This also means that a substantial amount of alcohol will involved in at least one of the nights this weekend. Woo!

Smashing Pumpkins - Greatest Hits

While I'm here, I'll just say this: listen to the Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits album. They're a grungy-rock band that formed in the '90s but are still around today. The Greatest Hits is absolutely stunning and some of the tracks are absolutely anthemic (Tonight, Tonight). There is a wide range of their material on the album, ranging from soft acoustic numbers (Disarm) to some more electronica-esque style belters (Eye). The album doesn't contain some of the newer material (which I have yet to listen to) but I strongly recommend this to any fans of bands such as Nirvana, Pixies etc etc.

8/10

Pick of the bunch: Disarm, Bullet with Butterfly Wings, Tonight, Tonight & Perfect.

Song of the Day:
